About Me

Hey there! I'm Ashley Ashé, also known as the Orisha Storyteller, and the founder of Ashé Shop. I'm an initiate of the Ifa/Lucumi traditions, and I love sharing the powerful stories of our ancestors—stories that go way back, long before enslavement. These stories are a bridge to our African roots, while also shining a light on our unique American experience.

I created The Ashé Shop as a welcoming space for people to explore African traditional religions and ask all the questions they have while navigating their spiritual journeys. Ashé represents the spiritual energy, wisdom, and power that we all carry within us. At the shop, we focus on personal growth through traditional spiritual practices that guide us along the way.

On the professional side, I hold a Master’s in Psychology and have over 10 years of experience working with individuals and families dealing with mental health challenges like depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and more. I’ve become passionate about helping people understand how mental illnesses show up in their lives and teaching them therapeutic ways to cope. Through this work, I’ve gained a deep understanding of myself, and now I’m all about inspiring others to live their best lives.

My mission is to break cycles of mental illness and generational trauma by connecting people to Traditional Spiritual Practices. I believe that by embracing our roots, we can heal from the wounds of enslavement and racial injustice. The stories of the Orishas offer African Americans a chance to reconnect with our rich cultural heritage and shared history with Africa and the African diaspora. Through these stories, we reclaim the wisdom and knowledge that was taken from our ancestors.
