On Saturday January 28 we will come together and discuss Jambalaya by Luisah Teish.    

Our Featured book Jambalaya is available through Baldwin & Co.  a local black-owned independent bookstore.

FiresideChats are free events open to the community. We are happy you are coming to join the conversation and explore our featured book with us. You can read the featured book either before or after the FiresideChat.

 Cocktail and Conversation  with Ashley

At the conclusion of the FiresideChat, Ashley from the Ashe Shop will answer your question during the ‘Quick Question’ segment. This selection provides you access to the Ashe Shop’s spiritual services where you can submit one question to be answered during the ‘Quick Question’ segment. 

**Note, your question will be anonymously shared and answered publicly within the FiresideChat community.


What time does the event start?
The FiresideChat will begin at 7pm.

How to get to the event?
The FiresideChat will be at NOLA Art Bar located at 2128 St Claude Ave, New Orleans, LA 70116

Will the FiresideChat be available online?
No, This is an in-person event community event.

Do I have to read the book to attend the event?
No, when to read the book is your choice. We believe the discussions surrounding the book will either encourage you to read the book or affirm those who have already read the book.

Where can I purchase the book?
Since we are big on supporting our community, we have partnered with Baldwin & Co. for guest to purchase their books through them. Alternatively, the book is available from the local library and other book retail outlets.

How do I reserve multiple seats?
Seating is available on a first come first serve basis.

Can we bring kids?
Although this is a community event, this event is restricted to adults 21 and older.

Can we ask questions?

At the conclusion of the FiresideChat, Ashley from the Ashe Shop will answer questions from the audience during the ‘Quick Question Segment’. Upon arrival check in with the Ashe Shop staff  you will be able to submit an anonymous question for Ashley from the Ashe Shop to answer.

How does the Quick Question segment work?
Please check-in with an Ashe Shop representative upon arrival.  You will receive a card to submit your anonymous question.  Return your question to the Ashe Shop Representative.  

Will everyone know I submitted the question?
Questions are anonymous.  You are not required to submit your name with your question.

Can I ask a follow up question?
No. in efforts to respect everyone's time and to make it through all of the questions, only the question submitted will be answered. For additional discussion surrounding your quick question it is advised you book a session for a reading with Ashley.

What kind of questions can be submitted during the Quick Question Segment?
You are welcome to ask whatever your heart desires. A few tips when asking for spiritual advice

  • Avoid yes or no questions
  • Be specific in your word choice when phrasing your question
  • Be intentional as to why you are asking your question
  • This way you will receive clear answers and guidance
